In edit mode, there are scrolling lines in the background when playing the song. I want to use edit mode to practice difficult parts of songs, and those lines are extremely distracting. Is there any way to get rid of them?

Just today I started stepmania up about to play a song, I went to the options when i figured out that I had a problem with my songs, Autoplay was off but it was on still. Does anyone have this problem too and does someone know how to fix it?

My offline stats are gone! :(

There are 2 announcers that I would love to see put together, but I don't think anyone has yet.

1. The male announcer voice from Wii's Hottest Party games. (I have them all on Wii, but I'm clueless as to how to extract the sound files.)

2. The cutesy female voice from Dance Masters on Xbox 360. (Same situation as above.)

I'm not a themer or have any experience with that, but if someone has done either of these or wants to, let me know :-)

Hello, everyone.
I'm searching for a dance pad. I need it to play stepmania on the pc(how unexpected). But I have no idea where I can get one.

Should I buy this? I'm a beginner(or should I say i found the game about a week ago) but I want a dance pad that won't be broken after a month. Maybe I should tell that I live in Austria. So if anyone of you know a good one that's costs beneath100€, it would be awesome (Sorry if my english is bad)

Hello guys im here because im using stepmania 5 delta v7 and i saw in a youtube video that we can create channels in that theme,but we need some stuff and know some things before we get started.Does anyone have a tutoial to make channels?.Now,in stepmania 5 cyberia 7 style,does it have unlock system? is there a tutorial for that?.And for the last,i have the cyberia 7 noteskins but it only have 4 arrows,if i send you the arrows can you make them for pump arrows?.Thanks in advance.By the way,im new in this and im from Argentina so dont expect i understand every little thing you teach me that fast XD.

I looked on the forums from old posts and it says that stepmania.ini is in /data/ of the installation folder, but I don't have it in there, i've looked on %appdata%, my documents too.

Trying to reset my offset, which I read "reload songs", didn't work, etc etc.

Hi guys, apologies if this is in the wrong section it's my first post here.

I have a pretty odd question but is there a way to change a version of stepmania to a red / greeen mode where the arrows are red and green in equal measure? I ask because I have recently been trying to fix a long standing lazy eye (or amblyopia) and games are the best solution (Tetris is currently being trialled with amazing results). The idea is that if the arrows are red and green in equal measure and you wear some red / green goggles then you have to use both eyes to get results ingame and that is the best way of improving this condition.

As a long time Stepmania fan of many years I know there are few if any other games that test my eye coordination quite as hard so I think this could be an amazing idea if it is possible (it is probably just an option I am missing).

I had a problem booting my Ubuntu PC after a mountain of updates downloaded a few days ago, the issue was with nvidia drivers and Xorg. I've fixed it but sm5 still fails to start.

I've recompiled and deleted everything from the save folder (in fact I eventually removed the entire hidden .stepmania-5.0 folder) but it still crashes as soon as it tries to start after loading songs.

The crashinfo.text is below. I've tried everything I can think of but still no joy so any ideas would be appreciated.

So to start off, I'm a bit of a newbie at all this. I've gotten some pretty good ideas so far

First I'm going to head to Lowes and buy 3/4 inch plywood. Probably the flooring kind. I'll have them cut it to 35 by 35 inches. Then I'll sand it down a bit so it's nice and smooth and splinter-free. For the siding of the enclosure, should I use the same wood or something thinner? Should it be the exact height of the pad (1/2 inch) or slightly smaller? Then I was gonna drill 4 screws into each side to keep the sides on. Inside the enclosure, maybe put a few pieces of velcro down to keep the pad steady in the enclosure. I was also thinking of putting something on the bottom of the enclosure to keep it gripped to the carpet. Perhaps grip tape or something rubber?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello to the forum, well maybe many have the same problem I had of not being able to press two opposite arrows.
This solution only works for me on windows xp, download this file https://mega.co.nz/#!U0JSTDZD!DvpDDh...l2K7ZKJMJECP1s and this driver for your adapter http://www.mediafire. com /? 97h3jx3h7fe3d6g, password of the last file is konker22
unzip both files and install the driver (optional) and then the other.
connect the adapter and the dance mat, open the game option.exe
and then choose your adapter and an image appear like this and only change to dancemat mode ;). there is only change stepmania controls. :D.
Do not hesitate to consult anything and if you have another OS let me know that I have another possible solution.

Ok so I live here in China and my wife and I ordered this pad off of Taobao, it actually works fine... its two pads in one...kind of stuck together side by side, they are controlled under one USB connector. Ok so Stepmania registers them both under

DANCE PAD (JOＹ　１）　
And
DANCE PAD (JOY 2)

I've configured the keys and mapped everything for them to the best of my knowledge. The buttons work without any problems. When I use the INPUT/Configure keys option it registers both pads as seperate JOY B1 and JOY B2, so it knows they are seperate but stops recognizing once in game and only gives the option for the one player games.

Both sides work with 'anyMania', unfortunately you have to pay to use that software.

It says PRESS START for one and for the other it says either INSERT CARD or NOT PRESENT and doesn't give the option to pick 2 player. It seems to work just fine for the left side but not the right.

Anyone have any idea about whats going on or some suggestions on how to fix it? Anymania works just fine and that was made in 2008... I've tried the pads with stepmania 3.9 and 5.0. Samething for both versions.

What series of songs would you recommend for a crash course in how to to do “rolls” and / or mines?

I've downloaded ITG & ITG2 for my new Stepmania computer, but most of those songs don't have mines / rolls (that I've seen so far) on medium difficulty. I tried to switch to Hard for some of them, but the mines / “rolls” placements were too complex for me to really get a feel for.

I first started DDR with illegal PS1 imports of DDR 1st mix from Japan on a soft pad modded to a piece of plywood. So things like “rolls”, mines, hitting the pad with hands and - heck - even freeze arrows, I don't have a lot of experience with.

I need to train, so I can do “rolls” / mines / etc as easily as I do steps and jumps. I want to pass more modern songs that have these techniques in them, on hard difficulty as they're about the only things that trip me up.

i was trying some new themes i downloaded on Stepmania 5... version 3.9 also says the same. here was the crash report i received:

You do not know if you should choose with or without video?
The same answer as the question before except that
videos take a lot more memory. so if
you choose for video [720p], you must have a computer
middle class or high. (And have a graphics card HD)
Otherwise, for videos [480p], you must have a computer
low to medium power.
